Bassetlaw museum is situated in Retford town centre in Amcott House, an 18th
century town house which retains many of its original features. An art gallery
was built in 1994, partly financed by the Percy Laws Memorial Fund of the
Rotary Club of Retford.
Monday - Saturday 10 - 5, closed Sundays.
Disabled Access to ground floor and toilet facilities.

It was actually Mr Straw's son who left this house plus £1.5m to The National Trust upon his death in 1991. When his father died in 1932,
he and his brother changed nothing, and now you can experience a typically
Victorian house, including memorabilia from the time and a garden.
